Award contest

You are cordially invited to participate to the "Green Award Contest":


CLEAN ENERGY DEFINITION

All candidacies must be based upon a technology, service or product in one of the following clean energy focus areas:

Renewable Energy, e.g. solar, wind, biomass, biofuels, hydro

Energy Efficiency, e.g. building insulation, lightning

Smart Mobility, e.g. low fuel consumption vehicles, electric vehicles, public transport solutions, cycling….

ELIGIBILIY

Business concepts, core technologies or market solution must meet one of the clean energy challenges defined in the

Clean Energy Definition.

The following teams are eligible:

  • All Members of the Czech Convention Bureau
  • Members of the Association of Small and Medium Sized Entreprises representing at least 50 employees in the Czech Republic


RULES

  • All applications must mention a contact person who is responsible for representing the team and being the primary contact
  • The application must describe a NEW project, not existing yet nor being already under development
  • Only applications describing a funding more than or equal to 1.000.000 CZK (excl. VAT) can be accepted

JUDGING CRITERIA (WEIGHT of 25% EACH)

Marketability

  • Competitive advantage
  • Market potential
  • Market scalability
  • Market need/opportunity

Team/Execution

  • Quality of application, dedication of the applicant
  • Skills needed to succeed
  • Time-to-market
  • Clear and strong plan to realize successfully

Feasibility

  • Time investments needed
  • Required capital investment/possibility to co-finance
  • Balance of magnitude and probability of success

Sustainability

  • Clean energy impact to the business:
    Applicant should convincingly indentify and quantify the clean energy benefits of the technology or business concept.
  • Expected life time of the implemented technology or business concept

AWARD

The award is only for 3 winners. The Authors of the best 6 selected applications will be informed not later than July 20th , 2010 and are invited to participate to the Conference free of charge.

The 3 winners will be announced on Sat 18 September 2010 during the Conference Dinner.

The Prizes for the 3 winners are:

Professional support and guidance from PriceWaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic experts for a grant application for co-financing the project from public allocated money.

This activity is dependent from availability of grants and eligibility of the project.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

All Executive Summaries of the accepted Applications will be published in the Conference Programme Book. Please read the below guidelines carefully prior to your application submission.

1.

Applications MUST be submitted electronically according to the following instructions by the specified deadline of 30 June 2010. Abstracts submitted by regular mail of by fax will not be accepted.

2.

Applications can only be accepted after registration to the Conference for minimum 1 day.
The authors of the 6 best evaluated applications will be reimbursed the registration fee.
The authors of the accepted applications will receive a 50 procent discount on the registration fee.

The registration fee includes an invitation to the Lunch Symposium on September 18th

3.

An application should contain maximum of 10 pages.

4.

Tables or/and pictures can be inserted.

5.

All applications must be written in English or Czech.

6.

Titles should not contain more than 20 words. No abbreviations are to be used in the titles.

7.

Applications will be reviewed and selected by representatives of the Min. of Education, Czech Tourism with an independent verification of PriceWaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic.

8.

All accepted Executive Summaries will be published in the Conference Final Programme

9.

The following subdivisions of your application are recommended but are NOT MANDATORY. There is no need to use every section if not appropriate to your work:
• Background of applicant (max. 1 page)
• Executive Summary (max. 1 page)
• Detailed description of identified issue (max. 3 pages)
• Detailed description of the suggested solution (max. 3 pages)
• Cost/benefit summary (max. 1 page)
• Conclusion (max. 1 page)

10.

All application authors will be notified by e-mail on acceptance status.

11.

Applications received after the deadline cannot be accepted and therefore will not be considered for the programme or publication.
