Onsite information

Dear friends,

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the European Student Seminar Sportmanagement Prague 2010 (ESSSP) and sincerely hope you will enjoy your time spent in Prague!
To provide some important information for your journey to Prague and for the seminar content, please find below the basic information.

Where to go

The ESSSP 2010 will take place at the Campus of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of the Charles University. Your accommodation is arranged at a nearby Hotel Krystal Prague*** and you will also find the registration desk here on your arrival on Saturday, September 11 from 2 PM to 7 PM.  On registration, you will receive a conference bag together with the Seminar handbook and public transportation ticket.  Should you plan to arrive in a different time to the registration opening hours, please make sure to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. How to get there

If you planned arriving by plane, check out the PDF map of transportation from the Ruzyne Airport. For those arriving by train, the destinations would be Nadrazi Holesovice or Hlavni nadrazi (Main station).  Both stations are well served by public transportation – metro; plan your trip to travel to Dejvicka metro station (line A/green line). From Dejvicka, tram No.20 or 26 will take you to Nad Dzbanem stop. The location of the hotel is well shown in the PDF map.
Should you prefer to have someone to pick you up and accompany you to the venue, please let us know about your arrival time and flight/train No. before Monday, September 6 so we can arrange accordingly.

About programme and the management game

Up-to-date programme is available on the website. The topics for the game will be taken from the White Paper on Sports (2007) that everyone can find on the EU website and can (should better) study before, in respective languages - three of the main barriers will be given to three different groups of teams, each group having to solve one - in a competition of the group teams for the winner. The task is to find a solution for the chosen barrier in sports. The barriers will be appointed by lottery at the beginning of the game. The three winners will present at the conference, and then the overall winner will be appointed. The output of each group is a pdf and a ppt/pps presentation. As usual, the tutors will decide the winners. The main criteria for the judgment include creativity, solution responding to the set problem, quality of presentation, feasibility, costs and efficiency of the project.

Internet access

There will be free wifi internet in the lobby of hotel Krystal.
At the faculty, access via eduroam network is available, so we strongly advice everyone (students and tutors) to arrange their access to eduroam for their notebooks in advance (as the best tool for them to work on both places; everyone should be able to arrange it at his/her own university).

Getting together...

During the ESSSP 2010, you will indeed have a chance to meet with your fellow students for fun too!
On Saturday, September 11, a modest Welcome party will be held in the restaurant of the Hotel Krystal as of 20:00.  Come and join the rest of the team to get to know each other before you start!
Other events are planned and you will get more information while on-site.
After the ESSSP 2010, you are welcome to join the Conference participants for the social events too; detailed information will be provided in the printed Conference programme which you receive onsite.

In trouble?

In the unlikely event of some problem, there will be a special telephone available for the duration of the Seminar (September 11 - 15). Should you need an urgent help from the ESSSP 2010 staff during this time, please dial +420 724 545 595.  For emergency, dial 112.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you need further assistance.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Prague!
