This insightful historical tour lets you enjoy the city’s most famous sights. The tour starts at Prague Castle (Hrad?any), registered as the biggest castle complex in the world. It established itself as the spiritual centre of the Bohemian sovereigns from the 9th century and since 1918 (foundation of Czechoslovakia) it has served as the
residence of presidents. A visit to St. Vitus Cathedral is included. The tour then follows the “Royal Route”, the former promenade of kings and part of the official coronation by foot. Winding down to Lesser Town and picturesque Kampa Island you will cross the famous Charles Bridge and continue to discover remarkable monuments in the Old Town area. This remarkable journey ends in front of the Old Town City Hall with its extraordinary astronomical clock.

During this tour you will have a chance to learn more about three Prague’s Famous artist: W.A. Mozart, Alfons Mucha, Franz Kafka. Tour will start at Bertramka, where W. A. Mozart completed in the autumn of 1787 hisopera Don Giovanni. Bertramka is used as a venue for regular concerts of chamber music nowadays. Romantic garden has preserved the atmosphere of the Mozart period to this day. Tour will continue to the world’s first Mucha Museum which is dedicated to the life and work of the world-acclaimed Czech ART NOUVEAU artist Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). The museum is housed in the Baroque Kaunický Palace in the very heart of Prague. At the end Franz Kafka Permanent Exhibition will be waiting for you. Franz Kafka (1883-1924) is the undoubtedly most famous Czech writer, who, with a circle of other German-speaking Jewish writers in Prague, played a major role in the literary scene at the beginning of past century. The memorial hall commemorates the life and work of Franz Kafka.

  • MORAVIAN KARST
    Is the most remarkable karts area in the Czech Republic. Limestone rocks from the Devonian period 350 milion years have developed a belt approx. 25 km long and 6 km wide. The area contains more then 1000 registered caves. The  Punkva Caves, which boasts the world renowned Macocha Chasm (138 m), can be toured by boat on the underground river Punkva.
  • LEDNICE - VALTICE COMPLEX
    a cultural landscape aptly dubbed “the Garden of Europe” is the result of the acts of people and of nature. In 1996 the Lednice-Valtice Complex was included in the UNESCO list of World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
  • MIKULOV
    The historical, cultural and tourist centre of the region below Pálava. The local Jewish cemetery, one of the largest Jewish burial places in the Czech Republic is a relic of the famous Mikulov ghetto. Mikulov has won fame from viniculture, whose colourful traditions are documented by winegrowing regulations dating from 1586 and a huge
    barrel with a content of 1,010 hectolitres, the second largest in Europe, still preserved in cellar of the Mikulov Chateau.
  • TANZBERG - BAVORY WINERY (Wine tasting)
    Products of the Bavory Winery (Tanzberg Mikulov, a.s.) will be tasted and purchased in the pleasant ambiance of the wine shop with a comprehensive menu of wines, baked goods and cheese.

A number of interesting guided tours have been prepared for all participants and accompanying persons. Please find the respective schedules and a short description below. All participants are kindly asked to meet at the registration area of the Prague Congress Centre 15 minutes before scheduled times. All tours will be conducted in English. The organiser reserves the right to cancel any tour in case there are less than 15 registered persons. On-site requests for guided tours are welcome but cannot be guaranteed.

    Cancellation of the social programme on or before June 4, 2009 will be free of charge. After June 4, 2009 the full amount will be charged. Tickets may be transferred to a colleague at any time for administrative fee of € 10,-. All refunds will be processed only after the Congress.
