Upon arrival to Prague by plane: We strongly recommend to use  AAA Taxi service, located at the arrival hall.
Prague International airport handles flights from within Europe and from overseas. It is located 30-45 minutes by car from the centre of Prague. There are good connections between the airport and the city centre by public transport – buses and taxis.

Arrival by public transport
Prague has a very sophisticated underground, tram and bus transportation system. The Prague underground is quite new and efficient. During the peak hours, trains run every 1 or 2 minutes, and during off-peak hours at least every 10 minutes. For more information about Prague public transportation visit http://www.dpp.cz/


Accompanying person programme
In paralel with the opening of the Congress on Thursday September 3, 2009 in the Diplomat hotel, registered accompanying person will set off by coach on an exciting one day exploration of the city of Prague. – GRAND TOUR OF PRAGUE – will start at 13:00 – the meeting point willl be at the registration desk in the hotel. Voucher for the tour will be handl out at the registration.
On the Thursday evening full delegate and partners are invited to an evening welcome reception in the Diplomat hotel.
On Friday the lucky partners will continue their programme with a tour of KARLOVY VARY SPA TOUR. Carlsbad is the most famous of the Western Bohemian spas. The tour will start at 8:30 and the meeting point will be at the registration.
After this all day tou rout of Prague the Friday will culminate in a gala dinner for full delegate and their partners.


A long with your registration, you will receive your badge. Name badge must be worn when attending the sessions and official dinner. Admittance to the sessions and dinner  without badge is not possible.

Certificate of attendance
Certificate of attendance will be handed over to each participant at the registration desk.


City maps
Along with your congress documents you will receive a city map together with other brochures about Prague. Further information is available at the info counter on the first floor at the registration.


Congress language
The congress language is English no translation is to be provided.


The Czech currency is called the Czech crown (CZK).Banknotes of 5,000, 2,000, 1,000, 500, 200, 100 and 50 CZK and coins of 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, 1 CZK values are available.
Exchange offices are located all around the city centre (exchange offices, banks, post offices).
ALL RATES given in the program are in EUROS (€).

In case of any urgent matters please do not hesitate to contact our staff at the registration desk.


Electricity used in the Czech Republic is 220 Volts; standard European system of round pins with two holes.Please, bring a transformer for your electrical or electronic equipment using different voltage (ie. USA, Canada).

Food and beverages
The cost of refreshment served at coffee-breaks, lunches is included in the registration fee of all participants and accompanying persons. The refreshment will be served within the Foyer in case of lunches whitin the restaurant Loreta. 


Gala dinner
Gala dinner for full delegates and registered accompanying persons will be held in Best Wester hotel Kampa in the Rytirsky hall. The transfer for the dinner will be arranged at 19:30. Meeting point will eb in the lobby of the hotel. Transfer back to the hotel will be provided as well.

For all questions regarding tours, please refer to the registration desk. 


When travelling around the Czech Republic  you might need medical assistance. You can be sure, you will be treated with high European standards. We recommend arranging travel insurance before leaving your country. If any assistance is needed ,please, contact our registration staff.

Insurance and Liability
The Organizers will accept no liability for personal injuries sustained by or for loss or damage to property belonging to Congress participants, accompanying persons either during or as a result of the Congress or during all tours and events. Participants are strongly recommended to take out an insurance policy covering an accident, lost luggage and trip cancellation.


Internet corner is not provided. You can buy a hifi access at the reception desk at the hotel. 


Lost & Found
A lost and found service is available at the registration desk. 


A message board will be located in the registration area. You can post your messages here.


Mobile Phones
Participants are kindly requested to keep their mobile phones in the off position in the meeting rooms while sessions being held. 


Participants arriving by car are advised to use the underground parking space, which is available in the hotel. Parking fees are not included in the registration fee.

Poster area is placed in the foyer. Please, mount your poster to the assigned poster board (marked by your number). If any assistance is needed, please ask the hostess at the poster desk in the poster area.

Poster Presentations: posters will be displayed during the whole congress. Please chek the programme for the assigned poster presentation time.

Presentation submisson
Power Point presentations only (CD, USB stick) may be used. In the lecture rooms a video projector and laptop will be at your disposal. Personal laptops are not permitted. Please take your presentation to the Slide preview next to the registration no later than 120 minutes prior to your lecture and approach the media technician. All the authors were provided with presentation guidelines directly before the Congress.


Programme Changes
The organizers cannot assume liability for any changes in the programme due to the external or unforeseen circumstances. 


Please, register at the registration, where a hostess will assist you with the registration. Based on your confirmation of registration you will receive a congress matherials along with the name badge. If you are preregistered via online system, please make sure to take your confirmation of the registration with you to avoid any confusion.

Onsite registrations can be done using an onsite registration form available at the registration:

Congress documents cannot be guaranteed for the participants registering onsite.

In case your payment was not recognized or did not reach us until August 31, 2009 copy of bank transfers will not be considered as a proof of payment. Therefore you will be asked to pay an onsite registration. All double payments will be reimbursed after the congress.

Cancellation policy / Name changes
All onsite cancellations (not communicated before to the secretariat) will automatically leads into 100% cancellations.
Name changes not communicated before will be considered as a new registration.

Prague belongs to most popular destinations in the world. Statistics show that when compared to other major European cities like Paris, Rome or Madrid the rate of crime is much lower in Prague. A night walk around the city is relatively safe but, of course, like in all other big cities with a high concentration of people, we recommend handling your personal belongings with the utmost care.


Most shops in Prague are open from 9:00 to 18:00, Monday through Saturday. Shops in the city centre are usually open from 9:00 – 20:00, Monday through Sunday.


Smoking policy
For the comfort and health of all the participants, smoking is not permitted at any official occasions. This includes sessions, workshops, other meetings, meal functions and also registration areas and foyers.


Slide Preview
Is located in next to the registration at the 1st floor. Please, make sure to hand in your presentation at least 120 minutes prior to the start of your assigned session. Our staff will be happy to assist you.

In the city centre taxis are easy to hail from the street but we recommend you to use hotel taxis or obtain a cab by phone through the radio taxi service e.g. AAA (+ 420 14 014),
City taxi (+420 257 257 257 ) or Speed cars (  +420 224 234 234 ).
Registration staff will be happy to assist you with taxi service at the PCC.
Boarding charge: approximately 30 CZK
Journeys within the city: approximately 28 CZK/ 1 kilometer
Waiting time: approximately 10 CZK/per minute


Prague is a city with a mixture of oceanic and continental weather, average summer temperature is 20 degrees C.


Time Difference
The Czech Republic is in Central European Time Zone. Central European Time (CET) is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1). After the last Sunday in March the time in the Czech Republic is shifted back by 1 hour to Central European Time and this lasts until the end of September.


Service is usually included in the bill in bars and restaurants but tips are welcome. If you consider the service good enough to warrant a tip, suggested level is around 10%. 


The Czech legislation requires that all congress costs include the Czech VAT.
