GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Participation in the annual FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum (YSF) is dependent upon the acceptance of an Applicant’s registration, abstract submission and eligibility. Therefore, all Applicants must prepare an abstract for submission, and following confirmation of successful application, the abstract will be included in the YSF either as a poster or, if selected, as an oral presentation. The aim of the abstract is to summarise your present research so that the Scientific Programme Committee can select the most interesting, innovative and relevant presentations for the YSF. To standardize the abstract layout, you should read these preparation guidelines carefully. You are also advised to avoid submission within 48 hours of the deadline, for the best system performance.

KEY POINTS AND ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1. Abstracts MUST be submitted electronically and according to the following instructions and by the specified deadline of 22nd January 2009. Abstracts submitted by fax or by email will not be accepted.

2. Maximum 2500 characters (letters) . Please note that text editors do not count characters exactly as the abstract system does, and there may be small differences. Tables cannot be included.  The abstract system will automatically inform you if you have complied with the rules or not, before accepting your submission.

3. All abstracts must be written in English.
Please note that if your abstract is accepted for an oral presentation, you must be able to  give your presentation in English.

4. When submitting your abstract, choose the topic it most relates to (please refer to list below). However, the Scientific Programme Committee, reserves the right to decide on definitive topic  assignment upon abstract selection.

8. Posters are particularly suitable for the presentation of complex data or material requiring extensive illustration.

9. It should be noted that poster and oral presentations will be subject to the same peer review process and selection by the Scientific Programme Committee, with both solely based upon the submitted abstracts written in English.

10. Accepted abstracts will be published in an abstract book of 34th FEBS Congress.
